K-5 Helpful Timeline!

1. Qualifying Fair – Check with your teacher to find out the date of your qualifying Fair (your school, district or other qualifying fair) in which you will participate in order to qualify for The Greater St. Louis Science Fair
2. Allow yourself 2 to 3 months before the Fair to begin your research
3. Decide on a project (see getting started)
4. If an experiment, write your hypothesis
5. Start your logbook and write in it every time you work on your project
6. Order (from your school) or buy your display board (see your display)
7. Complete your project and complete your logbook
8. Complete your display board
9. Bring your project to your qualifying Fair
10. ENJOY THE FAIR
11. Greater St. Louis Science Fair - your school will let you know if you qualify to go to the Greater St. Louis Science Fair at Queeny Park
    1. If you qualify for the Greater St. Louis Science Fair, get your project sequence number
       1. Your school may obtain your sequence number or
       2. You may need to go to the Greater St. Louis website to register
    2. Bring your project to Queeny Park on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 7:30 am – 6:00 pm. Project drop off (All Projects K-12)
    3. Take a look at the Greater St. Louis Science Fair website on Thursday, May 7, 2009 NOTE: PARENTS/STUDENTS/TEACHERS CHECK WEBSITE FOR AWARDS WINNERS!
    4. AWARDS CEREMONY
       1. If you won a blue ribbon or special award, come with your family and friends to Queeny Park on Thursday, May 7, 2009 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 Elemenatry Awards Ceremony (Grades K-5)!
    5. Project Pick-up - go to Queeny Park and pick up your project on Thursday, May 7, 2009 between 9:00 am and 7:30 pm or Saturday, May 9, 2009 between 9:00 a.m. and noon. (Note: Since we do not have a storage facility, all projects that are not picked up by noon on Saturday will be discarded.)
