The Academy of Science-St. Louis is pleased to announce that Pfizer-St. Louis and the Monsanto Fund, the Fairs two major sponsors, are again offering awards to teachers involved in science education.
The Monsanto Fund has generously offered to underwrite an award to honor an elementary school teacher who has actively worked with the Greater St. Louis Science Fair and has used the GSLSF in encouraging students interest in science through inquiry-based teaching.
Pfizer has generously offered to underwrite awards to teachers involved in science education for grades 6 12. Educators will be recognized for fostering the appreciation and understanding of science in the classroom, through after-school science activities or via the Greater St. Louis Science Fair.
The honorees school will receive a grant of $500 to be used in his/her classroom science programs and a stipend of $2,000 for the honoree to attend professional development meetings or conferences that will enhance that teachers work in science. Awards will be presented at the Academy of Science Awards dinner on April 16, 2008 at the Chase Park Plaza.
