REGISTERING YOUR SCHOOL & SCHOOL REGISTRATION DEADLINES

Each school that uploads projects to The Academy of Science - St. Louis Science Fair must register their school. One teacher should represent your school and complete the online SCHOOL and TEACHER registrations.

1. Honors Division School Registration Deadline:
   noon, Mon Feb 5, 2024
2. K-12 Division School Registration Deadline:
   noon, Thu, Feb 29, 2024
3. When you register your school, you request a certain number of spots. Most schools request 5 - 25 depending on the size of their school. Usually we are able to honor all requests; however, there is a limited total number of projects the Fair can handle.

If you are the Science Coordinator of your school district and you need to register multiple schools and do not want to register each school individually, you may register one school and then email the Science Fair Director at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with:

1. Your requested number of spaces for the district
2. Any school changes in the past year

Registering this way is not required, but will save you some time and assign the same student registration password to each school in your district.

 

STUDENT PROJECT REGISTRATION & DEADLINES

Each project must be registered in order to participate in the Honors Division or K-12 Fair.

• Honors Division Project Registration Deadline:
  noon, Mon, Feb 5, 2024
• K-12 Division Project Registration Deadline:
  noon, Fri, Mar 15, 2024

NOTE for TEACHERS:

So that K-12 Division students have time to register their projects by the above deadline, teachers need to identify the students who will submit projects to The Academy of Science - St. Louis Science Fair BEFORE MARCH 15, 2024. In other words, hold your school fair BEFORE March 15, 2024.

NUMBER OF STUDENTS ALLOWED ON A PROJECT:

• Students may work individually, or in a team of two.
• For Grades K-4 ONLY, teachers may submit a class project.

ONE PROJECT FOR EACH STUDENT:
Students may not submit more than one project.

SCHOOL PASSWORD: 
Each school that registers for The Academy of Science -  St. Louis K-12 Science Fair will receive the number of projects they are allowed to upload and a school password to be used by their students when they register their projects. Your School Pasword is available on the School Coordinator Dashboard after you register your school.

STUDENT SEQUENCE NUMBER: 
After a student registers their project, they receive a unique sequence number. Students should write this number down and save it— they will need it when they upload their project. After students register their projects, sequence numbers can also be found on the School Coordinator Dashboard.

STUDENT ADDRESS: 
Have students use personal (parent/s or guardian/s) home e-mail and snail mail addresses if possible when registering. This makes it easier for teachers! Student electronic ribbon certificates and any scholarship awards are mailed to the address that is used when the student registers. If the teacher's address is used, then the electronic ribbon certificates and scholarship awards are mailed to the teacher; and the teacher becomes responsible for emailing, mailing, or conveying awards and ribbon certificates to the student/s.

 

PROJECT UPLOAD & PROJECT UPLOAD DEADLINES

NO photos of faces, nor names of schools or students are allowed on projects or logbooks.

Students upload 1) project presentation, 2) logbook, 3) quad chart, 4) signed safety form.

• Honors Division Project Upload Deadline:
  noon, Fri, Feb 9, 2024
• K-12 Division Project Upload Deadline:
  noon, Mon, Apr 15, 2024
• Limit of 10 pages for presentation and 10 pages for logbook.
• Research Paper Division, students upload 1 file (can be Word doc or pdf) with 5 pages double spaced, signed safety form, and quad chart
• The size limit for each file uploaded is 100 MB.

PROJECT JUDGING & RUBRICS

The Academy of Science - St. Louis recruits science organizations and universities to judge projects entered in the Honors Division and K-12 Fairs.

• Honors Division Online Judging: Feb 10 - 16 | In-person Top 10 Finalists Judging: Sat, Feb 24, 2024, Webster U
• K-12 Division Online Judging: Apr 16 - 26, 2024

AWARDS

Close to $40,000 in scholarships and awards are presented to students with top projects.

Awards are mailed to the address the student used to register their project. Scholarship awards are emailed or snail mailed to the address that is used when the student registers. If the teacher's address is used, then any scholarship awards and the electronic ribbon certificates are mailed to the teacher; and the teacher becomes responsible for emailing, mailing, or conveying awards and ribbon certificates to the student/s.
