and Here is a helpful timeline for planning your project:
- Qualifying Fair -- Check with your teacher to find out the date of your qualifying Fair (your school, district or other qualifying fair) in which you will participate in order to qualify for the Academy of Science - St. Louis Science Fair
- Allow yourself 2 to 3 months before the Fair to begin your research
- Decide on a project (see "Getting Started")
- If an experiment, write your hypothesis
- Start your logbook and write in it every time you work on your project (it's ok to type in a word document)
- Order (from your school) or buy your display board (see "Display")
- Complete your project and complete your logbook
- Complete your display board
- Register between February 23, 2012 and April 16, 2012 - your teacher will give you the school registration number.
- Bring your project to your qualifying Fair
- ENJOY THE FAIR

REGISTER - Academy of Science - St. Louis Science Fair - your school will let you know if you qualify to go to the Academy of Science - St. Louis Science Fair at Queeny Park. REGISTER YOUR PROJECT FOR THE FAIR BETWEEN FEBRUARY 23, 2012 AND APRIL 16, 2012 - your teacher will give you a school password - then go to Student Project Registration to register.

SEQUENCE NUMBER - When you register, you will instantly receive your STUDENT SEQUENCE NUMBER - write this down or print out this page.

ROW AND POSITION NUMBER - You will receive a link to your row and position number via e-mail on April 20, 2012.

DISPLAY ID CARD - Place your display ID card which includes your sequence number and row and position on the bottom right of your display board.

ARRIVE - Bring your project to Queeny Park on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 between 7:30 am and 7:00 pm. This is the only project drop off time for all Grades K-12.

RESULTS - Parents/students/teachers check the website for award winners on Thursday, May 3, 2012.
- AWARDS
- Elementary (Grades K-5) - If you won a blue ribbon or special award, come with your family and friends to Queeny Park on Friday, May 4, 2012 from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm for an Elementary Awards Ceremony (Grades K-5). Photographer will take group photos!

Secondary (Grades 6-12) If you won a special award, an "Awards Pick-Up and Photo Opportunity" is planned for you! Come to Queeny Park on Saturday, May 5, 2012 anytime between 9:00 am and noon to pick up your award. (Clarification - Secondary students have busy schedules...you just stop in - you do NOT need to be present all morning.) PHOTOGRAPHER WILL PHOTO WINNERS INDIVIDUALLY AT THE PHOTO BOOTH!

PROJECT PICK UP - go to Queeny Park and pick up your project anytime on Friday between 10:30 am and 7:30 pm or Saturday between 9:00 am and noon. Note: since we do not have a storage facilitiy, all projects not picked up by noon on Saturday will be discarded.
