Here is a helpful timeline for planning your project
  1. Qualifying Fair:  Check with your teacher to find out the date of your qualifying Fair (your school, district or other qualifying fair) in which you will participate in order to qualify for the Academy of Science - St. Louis Science Fair.  Top students proceed to the Academy of Science - St. Louis Science Fair which will be an e-fair for 2022.  Schools may have their own method to select projects who will upload their projects for the Academy's Science Fair.
  2. Approval:  ALL projects need e-mail approval from their teacher BEFORE starting the research and project.  Click here for Research Plan Guidelines
  3. Allow yourself 2 to 3 months before the Fair to begin your research.
  4. Decide on a project (see "Getting Started").
  5. Hypothesis:  If an experiment, write your hypothesis.
  6. Logbook:  Start your logbook and write in it every time you work on your project (it's ok to type in a word document) (see "your logbook").  You may want to consider keeping your log book in a word document on your computer.  Do not list your name or show photos of faces of people in your project.
  7. Display Board:  All projects will be submitted as efair projects; however, if you would like to construct a traditional science fair poster, you can take photos of the poster for upload.  Do not list your name or show photos of faces of people in your project.
  8. Finish:  Complete your project and complete your logbook.
  9. UPLOAD:  Upload power point and logbook.  Limit the project powerpoint to 10 pages and the logbook (pdf or word doc) to 10 pages.
  10. ENJOY THE FAIR!
