Honors Division JUDGING
The Academy of Science - St. Louis is seeking volunteers with advanced degrees or certification - M.D., Ph.D., P.E., D.Sc., et al, to evaluate collegiate-quality student science projects.
DATE: Saturday, March 4, 2017
TIME: Morning Round 8:00 am - Noon
Afternoon Round Noon - 4:00 pm (approximately)
LOCATION: Missouri Botanical Garden Commerce Bank Education Building (Corner of Kingshighway & Shaw - across from O'Connell's Pub)

- Honors Division judges hold an advanced degree (MD, Ph.D) or have several years experience in a corporate setting.
- Judges currently work in (or recently retired) research labs, university settings or corporations.
- Since students present their projects in person, parents and relatives of participants as well as high school teachers are not eligible to judge the Honors Division and are encouraged to judge the Grades K-12 Fair later this year. Judges need to pre-register by February 23, 2017
DETAILS: Honors judging consists of a morning round of discipline-specific judges and projects. Judges work in teams with a detailed rubric. The afternoon (optional for morning judges) session is an opportunity for the top 10 high school students to present and translate their science to an interdisciplinary audience.
AWARDS: Top 2 students are invited to the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Los Angeles. Top 10 Honors Division Students receive college scholarship awards of $1,000 or more!
Q: I would like to judge, may I bring my child with me to observe Judging?
A: No, you will need to make other arrangements for your child on the day of Honors Division judging. However, you may bring you child to the K-12 Academy of Science - St. Louis Science Fair as all projects will be on display. See schedule for public display dates.
