Required Safety Procedures

IMPORTANT! 

ALL students MUST complete these steps BEFORE STARTING their project:

  1. Complete a Research Plan. Review your research plan with your parent/guardian and your teacher. You may use this SAMPLE RESEARCH PLAN as a template.
  2. Review the Rules & FAQs page and verify with your teacher that your project adheres to the rules.
  3. Complete and sign the 2024 Safety Form (worth 10 points)

The above steps MUST be completed BEFORE you begin your research.

Scan or take a picture of your signed safety form and upload it when you upload your project.  You may include your research plan with your safety form, but it's not required to upload.
 
Teachers- Review each student's research plan and safety form. If you have questions, ask the student for clarification. For approval, teachers need to be certain the student can perform the research and experiment safely. Send email approval to student, or sign safety form for student to upload.
 
Parents- Review your student's research plan and safety form. A parent or teacher must be present and supervising during experimentation or prototype development/building. Sign the safety form for student to upload.
