and For more than 60 years, the Science Fair has been an amazing science catalyst for students in kindergarten through high school. Under the leadership of the Academy, hundreds of educators, scientists and science advocates work year-round to bring science inquiry to life for more than 55,000 students in the St. Louis area participating each year in the Science Fair. School districts select their top student projects and submit them to the Regional Science Fair, held at Queeny Park.
The Monsanto Fund and MEMC continue their tradition of supporting scientific learning and discovery. In 2011, there were over 2,000 top projects, representing 230 public and private schools, on display and eligible for further awards. High school students with honors-level projects further compete for scholarship awards and represent the St. Louis area at the International Science and Engineering Fair.
