TIME FOR QUESTIONS: 2-3 minutes

You do not need to bring a computer.

You may bring a USB Drive.

You may use Google Sheets.

You may make changes to the PowerPoint you have already created.

Students will present in alphabetical order by last name.

The rubric that will be used is on the website under Honors Rubrics. (Visual format may change, but the scoring criteria and points will remain the same.)

ISEF VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS
The Academy of Science- St. Louis Science Fair does not require COVID-19 vaccinations, however ISEF requires that all attendees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to attend Regeneron ISEF 2023. All Academy of Science Science Fair- Honors Division participants are required to be vaccinated againt COVID-19 to be eligible for an invitation to compete at Regeneron ISEF 2023. Regeneron ISEF 2023 will be a fully in-person event held in Dallas, TX at the Kay Bailey Hutchinson Convenstion Center from May 13-19, 2023. Vaccines must be FDA or US Department of State approved, and the last dose in the series must have been received no later than 2 weeks prior to the start of Regeneron ISEF.

JUDGING

The Academy of Science - St. Louis seeks volunteers with advanced degrees or certification M.D., Ph.D., P.E., D.Sc., et al, to evaluate collegiate-quality student science projects.

FOR HONORS DIVISION JUDGE REGISTRATION

ROUND 1

DATE: February 12 - 16, 2024

TIME: Anytime between the above dates!

LOCATION: Virtual

DETAILS: Honors Judging Round 1 takes place virtually. Students will have uploaded their projects by February 9 and discipline-specific judges will evaluate projects virtually between February 12 - 16. Judges will take about 2 hours to review 1-3 projects using a detailed rubric.

ROUND 2- Finalist Round

DATE: Saturday, February 24, 2024

TIME: 12:00 PM - 4:30 PM

LOCATION: Webster University

DETAILS: Honors Judging Round 2- Finalist Round is an opportunity for the top 8-10 high school students to present and translate their science to an interdisciplinary audience.

JUDGE QUALIFICATIONS:

Honors Division judges hold doctoral degrees (MD, Ph.D., JD, D.Sc., et al) or have several years experience or terminal degrees in a corporate setting or STEM-related field. Parents and relatives of participants as well as high school teachers are not eligible to judge the Honors Division and are encouraged to judge the K-12 regional eFair in April.
Judges currently work in (or recently retired) research labs, university settings, or corporations.
Parents and relatives of participants as well as high school teachers are NOT eligible to judge the Honors Division and are encouraged to judge The Academy of Science - St. Louis K-12 regional Fair later this year. Judges need to pre-register.

Q. Can I add this to my resume?
A. Yes! Add judging science fair projects to the science education outreach section of your resume and be sure to mention that The Academy of Science - St. Louis Science Fair is one of the largest science fairs in the nation.

Q: I would like to judge, may I bring my child with me to observe Judging?
A: No, you will need to make other arrangements for your child on the day of Honors Division judging.
